The Glasgow Duo

Philip Sharp, piano & Fiona Robertson, violin
About
Known for their virtuosic performances of the violin and piano repertoire, The Glasgow Duo has performed throughout the UK and Europe, including at the Laidlaw Centre in St Andrews, the Kettner Society in London, and the Lake District Summer Music Festival.
Since studying together at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, both musicians have achieved considerable success individually and as a duo, receiving numerous prizes and scholarships. Separately, they have performed in some of the most prestigious halls and festivals in Europe, including the Wigmore Hall, the Royal Albert Hall, and the Concertgebouw.
The Glasgow Duo has a particular interest in contemporary music and is also dedicated to promoting the work of underrepresented composers. Recent engagements include recitals at St Mary’s Music School in Edinburgh and the Laidlaw Music Centre in St Andrews, where they gave the world premiere of the 2024 commissioned work Melancholia and the Angel by Camden Reeves. In April 2025, with generous support from the Ralph Vaughan Williams Foundation, they made a film and CD recording of this work, along with other compositions by Reeves.
